Myrtis Dightman Battle Of Texans 25 Years Strong National Finals Rodeo Shirt – A Western Rodeo T-shirt steeped in Texas cowboy heritage for fans

Myrtis Dightman remains one of the most important figures in American rodeo history. He became the first African American cowboy to compete in the National Rodeo Championships in 1964 and subsequently returned to the biggest stage of rodeo throughout his career, including numerous major victories in bull riding. He was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 2016. Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum

His legacy continues into 2026 through the Myrtis Dightman Sr. Youth Hall of Fame Rodeo & Trail Riding Tournament in Crockett, Texas. This organization continues to provide young athletes ages 5 to 17 with opportunities to develop rodeo skills, leadership abilities, and an appreciation for Western heritage.
