Nu Det NUUK Make America Go Away Hat – Greenland Declaration Hat

The Nu Det NUUK Make America Go Away Hat is linked to the new international debate over Greenland in early 2026. The red hat appeared in Greenland and Denmark after US President Donald Trump reaffirmed his intention to buy Greenland, and was worn by those opposing the proposal. Reuters described the red hats as a visible symbol in the Greenland dispute in January 2026.

The phrase “Nu det NUUK!” is a Danish wordplay revolving around Nuuk, the capital of Greenland. It repeats the phrase “nu er det nok,” or roughly translated as “enough is enough,” but replaces the last word with Nuuk. Contemporary reports note that this design quickly gained attention in Greenland and Copenhagen.

The cap features a sturdy bright red crown with the large white embroidered inscription “Nu det NUUK!” on the front. The side features the Greenland flag above the inscription “MAKE AMERICA GO AWAY,” giving the cap a clear connection to the political discussion surrounding Greenland.

This phrase emerged as a reaction to the United States’ renewed interest in Greenland. Reports from January 2026 noted that versions of these hats sold out following Trump’s statements about Greenland, while protests in Nuuk and Copenhagen also featured messages emphasizing Greenland’s right to self-determination.

Therefore, the phrase should be understood as a political expression of opposition to the US annexation of Greenland, not merely a decorative slogan. Reuters reported that vendors described “Nu det NUUK” as a pun based on the idea that “it’s time to stop.”

The hat combines striking embroidered typography, Greenland-inspired colors, signature flag details, and a message rooted in one of the most notable international political debates of 2026. Its sturdy construction and elegant red and white design make it suitable for display, everyday wear, or as an addition to collections focused on contemporary cultural moments.
