Just days before his debut, Lara made a crucial defensive catch late in the game against Chicago and followed it up with a game-winning singles hit on September 8th, further fueling the growing popularity of the nickname “Luis Aura” among Milwaukee fans.

Lara’s rise is one of Milwaukee’s most notable stories of 2026. Earlier this year, the club committed him to a seven-year contract through 2032, including team-optional clauses that could extend the deal through 2035.
