The Tampa Bay Rays officially return to the 2026 baseball playoffs. Tampa Bay secured a playoff spot on September 11th, becoming the first American League club to qualify this season and ending a two-year absence from October games.

The story has grown bigger since then. Tampa Bay currently boasts a 96–61 record, leading New York by six games in the Eastern Conference with only five games remaining, thus securing the conference championship and giving greater meaning to the “Nothing Better Than October” message as they head into the playoffs.
