(Knock, Knock) Mic check, is this thing on?
This weekend, I had the pleasure of attending and vending at the Tall Society Brunch in DC, where 40+ women, who are above 5'9" and wear size 9+ shoes, gathered to celebrate each other. It was my first time, but it will not be my last. The event served as a much-needed reminder of why I started Etta Grove.
Despite being told by retailers that extended sizes are not necessary or that they need to figure out where to fit them in their stores, meeting my tall sisters eye to eye reaffirmed that this is not true. We are students, moms, professionals, and everything in between, and we want to look as good as we feel, if not better. It's disheartening to have the perfect apparel and then have our feet adorned with unwelcome, yet necessary, shoes from the men's department or something two sizes too small. We can do better.
Even if Etta Grove is not everyone's style, the goal is to offer fashionable, comfortable, extended-size options—plural. The survey says: do better. Thanks. That's all for today.
